Three Seeds to Sow in January - Kicking Off the Gardening Year

If you're anything like me, when the New Year starts, you're ultra keen to get sowing. It's still winter, but these are three seeds to sow in January to get your gardening year off to a good start.

Firstly, I'm sowing another set of winter lettuces (Arctic Gem) that I can pick the outer leaves from and leave some in place for the entire hearts later in the year. Secondly, I'm sowing Aubergines. These have a long period to maturity, so if you have a little heated propagator, it's best to get them started early. Finally, I'm starting a new flower for me from Dobies; Achillea noblessa.
