Allotment Diary : How to produce your own onion seed be it from small onions or giant ones, the process is the same.
If you keep chosing your largest onions then eventually they should get bigger year after year by re-selection.
Simply harvest your onions of choice, let them dry for a couple of months and then replant around Christmas time.
These will regrow and send up new leaves and then seed heads.
Let the bugs and bees pollinate the flowers and then around September when the seed has formed dry the heads out and then harvest the seed.
