General description

Skimmia japonica is a dense evergreen shrub belonging to the Rutaceae family. it has fragrant, waxy, ovate leaves and has a bushy habbit.

It flower creamy-white to yellow flowers in Spring 

Plant requirements

Can grow in Sand or Loam.

Moist but well-drained

Any facing - Exposed or Sheltered

Part shade to Full shade

PH Tolarent Acid, Alkaline or Neutral soils.

Hardy to -15C

Maintenance

Low maintenance plant just prune out any dead, dieseased or damaged wood as soon as flowering is over May to July. 

Practical use

All year Colour, Fragrant and good for insects.
