From the Plantaginaceae family. Native to Morocco. 

Thin, green main stalk with colourful, tiny snapdragon-like flowers across multiple red-brown stalks on top. Good for flowerbeds, borders, baskets and window boxes. Flowers Spring to Autumn in cooler climates. Annual.

From seed in the garden (late June), it took 2 weeks for green shoots to push through and 2 weeks until it was fully-bloomed. Comes in purple, lavendar, medium yellow, white, red, orange and light and dark pink, all with bright yellow tongues. Grows to about 2 feet high and spreads to about 7 inches with lots of flowers. 

No serious disease or insect problems. Aphids should be watched for.

Not keen on summer heat, and may die down as it gets hotter.
