Paeonia 'Flame'

Photo: Peonia 'Flame'

Single Peony

USDA Zone: 2-9

Hybrid Peonies are valued for their colourful and often fragrant blooms, similar to Garden Peonies. Plants form an upright bush of dark green leaves, remaining attractive all season. This single Japanese-style selection features fiery scarlet-red petals, and a contrasting yellow centre. Midseason. Peonies seldom need to be divided or moved, but if necessary it should be carried out only in the fall. Flowering is always best in a sunny location. Trim off old stems to the ground in late fall, to help prevent disease problems. Excellent for cutting. Compact habit.
