General description

Showy compact shrub with fuzzy leaves, dark on top and almost silver underneath. Produces deep purple flowers at branch ends most of the year.

Plant requirements

Prefers slightly acid, fast-draining soil. Full sun to light shade. Needs protection from strong winds and hard frosts. Resistant to dry conditions but does best with weekly watering.

Maintenance

Pinch stem ends to encourage bushiness. Prune before new growth starts to maintain shape and size, and remove dead stems. Fertilize when new growth begins.

Practical use

Show plant. Does well in pots.
