General description

Large shrub with deep green leaves that resemble a hibiscus leaf with a brilliant red flower that never fully opens. Flowers year round.

Plant requirements

Full sun to part shade, although will grow 'leggy' in the shade. Tolerates most any soil. Average water but is drought tolerant. USDA Zones 9 - 11, will die to ground in freeze, but will recover and rebloom by summer. Propagate by cuttings anytime.

Maintenance

Very tolerant of cutting and trimming. Virtually pest free.

Practical use

Adds brilliant red flowers year round. Fast growing to add bulk to empty areas.
