General description

Gladious murielae is a perennial bulb beloning to the Iridaceae family. It has a sharp linear leaf shape, vibrant green in colour, with a sharp purple centred white star like flower in Summer.

Plant requirements

Can grow in a Loam, Chalk or Sandy soil.

Moist but well-drained to well-drained.

East, South or West-facing - Sheltered.

Full-sun.

PH Tolerant Acid, Alkaline or Neutral soils.

Half Hardy to 1C 

Maintenance

Protect by lifting corms and storing them in a unheated green house or cloche before first frosts if a good manure is used to increase heat.

Propagation

Propagate from dividing the cormlets when plant is in a dormant state. 

Practical use

A striking bedding plant.
