General description

frost hardy (too -5) perennial plant with red and yellow flowers from late Summer. It grows well in semi-shade and direct sun, and prefers medium levels of water. It looks best in Autumn and Summer. This plant has an erect plant and has a clump forming growth habit. It is adapted to chalk, clay loam, loamy sand, peat and prefers high fertility. The pith of the stem can be eaten as a vegetable.
