Useful for lighting up shady areas, this prolific astilbe produces fluffy creamy white plumes that age to light pink. The bushy foliage is slightly marbled with silver in the spring, turning solid dark green as it matures. Excellent for a fast-growing border plant. Cut flowers are splendid in dried arrangements. Blooms mid to late summer.
Easily grown in average soil kept evenly moist. Provide mulch and extra water in sunny areas.
Fertilize each spring for best display. Trim flower stems in autumn.
