Very hardy and requires very little attention.

Grows best in well-drained soil high in organic matter.

Water regularly especially during dry periods.

Feed occasionally with bone meal.

Attracts hummingbirds. Hardiness zones 3-9. Ht: 10-12 inches. Blooms June to July. 

Small green, heart-shaped leaves are edged with gold. Deep lavender flowers appear from mid to late summer. 

Practical Use

For best effect, plant as an edging, ground cover or foundation planting.

Maintenance

Apply a summer mulch to retain moisture and encourage development of the finest, sturdiest plant. Remove faded flower stalks for best display.
