General description

The old French gherkin or connichon pickler. Listed in America in 1982 by Gregory. Great for Making tiny sweet pickles. Rare Heirloom.

Plant requirements

Best direct-seeded at about the time of last frost, but can be started earlier as transplants, provided the seedlings are set out before becoming root-bound.

Maintenance

Cucumbers are heavy feeders and thrive in rich soil full of organic matter.  They can be trellised if desired.  A bit of afternoon shade is helptul in very hot summer areas.  Supply abundunt moisture and keep mature fruit picked.

Practical use

Great for making tiny pickles.
