Woody evergreen shrub with leaves dark green on top, lighter underneath. Prolific, fragrant flowers in the spring that emerge purple, then turn lavender, and finally white within a span of about three days. Flowers of all three colors appear simultaneously on the plant as new blooms appear.
Partial sun. USDA zones 9-12. Does not tolerate freezing temperatures very well.
Regular watering, weekly, or more in hot climates. Fertilize in late winter. Prune after blooming stops.
Accent shrub for spring color, borders, hedges. Does well under conifers.
