General description

Up to about 40 cm high and bushy with many flowers.  Spring flower of the Eastern Deciduous Forest of USA

Can bloom twice about 3 weeks apart.

Plant requirements

Partial shade; can tolerate some sun but not in full sun in summer.

Loamy soil but can tolerate some clay and a bit of drying out.

Re-seeds easily but not annoyingly.  Exudes a yellow juice if leaves broken.

Maintenance

Low maintenance and beautiful near a border.
