General description

An old English variety that is a genuine dual purpose variety. Produces large apples that are flushed red/orange over a yellow/green russeted skin.

Good quality cooker that falls to a stiff puree upon cooking. Sweetens later in the season and upon storage to make a decent dessert apple.

Plant requirements

It is triploid which means that it is extremely vigorous and requires two pollination partners to set fruit. It does have a tendancy to biennial cropping.

Its final height will depend upon the rootstock, however it will be at the top end of the height potential of whichever rootstock it is on. An unpruned example on an MM106 rootstock may reach 5.5m.
