General description

Features: Fronds unfurl copper-red, maturing to bronze and then green. Green summer foliage can then acquire a russet tone in autumn. Spreads slowly by rhizomes. Very attractive colr. Ht: 18-39 inches. Blooms, grown for foliage. Hardiness zones 3-8. Deer resistant.

Plant requirements

Sun to shade. Grow in fertile, humus-rich soil. Keep soil moist, watering freely in dry weather. Plant crowns no more than 1-2 inches, planting too deep is often fatal.

Woodland areas, groundcover, container.
