General description

Oxalis deppei is a perennial bulb belonging form the Oxalidaceae family. It has a four leaflets per leaf in a shamrock style with black centres and green rim. Simple pink five petalled flowers in June to September.

Plant requirements

Can grow in sand or Loam soils

Moist but well-drained to Well-drained soil

Facing - ?

Full sun to Part shade

PH Neutral or Acid soils

Hardy to -12C  

Maintenance

May need frost protection mulch with bark chippings or well rotted manure before first frost. (don't forget to tag so you know where it is in a big border)

Practical use

Flowers and leaves are edible in small quantities. (Warning Contains Oxalic acid)
