Cheerful basket of hyacinths

It's a popular tradition to buy indoor bulbs to start the New Year to get excited about the prospect of spring. Add some seasonal joy to your home this Christmas with this cheerful basket.

This is what you will need:

• A colourful open basket
• Pine cones
• Hyacinths
• Plastic bags
• Pretty tissue paper
• Colourful sticky tape

 

How to make the hyacinth basket:

Soak the hyacinth pots in water, place them in a strong plastic bag and cut the bag at the right height.
Cut squares out of the paper, fold them around the pots and loosely stick them slightly above the edge with the tape. Make sure that there is a bit of room around the stems so that you can water them.
Arrange the bulbs between the pine cones.

Get stuck in and enjoy this unique combination with a touch of spring.
