  • Nancy N.This past summer I planted a rhododendron variety called "Bob's Blue." It is small leafed and gets small blue flowers. This fall I notice a number of leaves yellowing and dropping. Is this normal. Is this a deciduous rhody? Any info on this plant and its care is appreciated.

  • Martin L. Martin L. Yellow leaves often indicate lack of nutrients or poor root function, perhaps due to root disease, waterlogging, soil compaction or drought. Alkaline soils can have the same effect on ericaceous plants such as rhododendrons, when the leves go yellow this plants might be suffering of chlorosis and you'll need to reduce the ph on the soil, I recommend you to text the ph on the soil to find out
