  • Is anybody having problems with pepper plants? Mine are losing bottom leaves and dropping flowers. The leaves sometimes turn yellow with brown spots. I used a slow release fertilizer when I planted them and have watered 2x week if we haven't had rain. My Thai Hots are not affected, but the sweet bells, Poblano and Ancho aren't looking so good.   • Gail Michayluk Seems that peppers don't like to get cold....they just don't come back from it. Mine are feeble little plants with the odd blossom....that of course, the deer eat!

  • Katie Schaller Ironically, I did get a few sweet peppers, although the plants are still not full of leaves. My jalepanos never took off. I planted fairly late, after all the damp cold stuff was pretty much over. Now my basil looks all punked out...dropping leaves, yellowish. Life got in the way and I never got around to any mid season fertilizing.
